SOURCE is an easy to use tool for EEG/EP source reconstruction that seamlessly integrates with the ESI and SCAN 4 software. It uses the most highly optimized source algorithms to rapidly produce dipole source reconstructions, and display the results in an MRI context. Select from several dipole models (moving, rotating, fixed, RAP MUSIC, etc.) and volume conductor models (three spherical shells, BEM and FEM). Confidence ellipsoids for each solution help you determine valid sources. SOURCE can be used with average data or with raw EEG data files, and it permits integration of results with the subject's MRI, or with a warped MRI data set. Source can be combined with the PCA/ICA program to let you analyze independent components in the waveforms. Most important, SOURCE provides rapid localization results and allows you to view the cortical solutions calculated from your data, greatly enhancing the information inherent in the data that you are already collecting.

Specifications:

  • Computation of single equivalent current dipoles, moving dipoles, rotating dipoles, regional dipoles, fixed (coherent) dipoles, and fixed (RAP MUSIC) dipoles.
  • Dipoles are calculated using a three concentric sphere, BEM (standard and interpolated), and FEM (interpolated) volume conductor models.
  • Source solutions can be computed online and offline.
  • Confidence ellipsoids* are constructed around dipole solutions (*-patent pending).
  • Dipole solutions can be plotted on an average MRI, or on the patient's imported MR images.
  • Single point or user-defined latency interval analyses.
  • Displays of measured and fitted contours.
  • Easy methods for viewing the results from various perspectives, and options for displaying skin, skull, and brain point clouds.
  • Default or user-determined radii and conductivities.
  • Manual repositioning of the dipole source for hypothesis testing.
  • Movie replay mode displays movement of the dipole.
